Is Drew Rosenhaus about to be cursed?
Kellen Winslow announced that he fired the Poston brothers yesterday. The Poston’s infuriated the Brown’s back in ‘04 when they held Winslow out four weeks and rejected a contract that would have made Winslow the highest paid “soldier” in the league. So to make it easier on the front office, Winslow has hired Drew Rosenhaus.Not that he was actually thinking about the front office when he made the call. It’s just that the Postons have kind of underperformed since signing Winslow. Call it karma. Early in the season, Winslow broke his ankle on an on-side kick attempt, no less, and lost $10 million in incentives. Next season, he made teensy weenie minor mistake when he crashed a motorcycle, breaking his leg. All the while, the Poston’s other clients were getting injured and playing poorly. Charles “I’m Certainly No” Woodson missed ten games in ‘05, but it didn’t affect his performance: He still ended up with one interception, the same total as in ‘04. Lavar Arrington missed 12 games in ‘04 then got into a dispute with the Redskins who were holding back what he thought was his signing bonus. Turns out Karl Poston simply forgot to read Arrington’s contract. He was suspended by the Player’s Association. Charles Rodgers, another one of their clients, caught a grand total of 14 passes from ‘04 to ‘05 then got released after failing a drug test. Wasn’t he a first round pick? I vaguely remember him singing something about having 68 catches for 13 touchdowns.With the karma that comes with representing Winslow, hopefully the same happens to Rosenhaus. Anquan Boldin will get injured jumping into the seats after a TD and landing on… seats; those seem to be the only thing in Cards stadium during games. Willis McGahee will be caught in the traditional Baltimore Raven running back crime ring. Sean Taylor will shoot Chad Johnson as he’s coming across the middle because Taylor just remembered that Johnson was one of the guys who stole his ATVs way back when. And Terrell Owens will become a cancer to his team and get released.
