Great Work of Mediocrity!

Since 1988 (20 years ago), 65 teams have finished 8-8 with 7 lucking into the playoffs. That was before this year started.  If the Cardinals lose to Seattle this week, and the Chargers beat the Broncos, you can add two more teams to that list.

In case you’re wondering: the last 8-8 team to make the playoffs was the New York Giants in 2006.  That year, an unbelievable 8 teams finished at .500.  This year, 7 different teams have a shot to finish mediocre.
