WARPED REPORT
Mike V Interview Didn’t Go Down, But Rain Did
I was scheduled to interview Mike Vallely at 5 o clock. That picture was taken at 5 o clock. Sorry to those of you who wanted to know about why Mike swings the way he does. I did, however, interview Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low and Dave McWane from Big D and the Kids Table. Check back later today for those ones.
The wind, rain, and hail lasted an hour and a half, blowing tents over, and tearing canvas off the main tent. Eventually, they got everything cleaned up, and New Found Glory took the main stage, saying, “What the hail was that?” They played a good show, but the best show of all–most energetic–was Big D’s, which ended the night. On a small stage with loyal fans, they were jumping all over the place. The final song, LAX (Lyrics, Music Video), which trashed Los Angelas elitists, had the entire crowd singing along at the top of their lungs. The best part of the show was that, with the rain, we are allowed to use our tickets to go to any other Warped show the rest of the year. I’ll be at one and get my Mike V interview.
Along with the music, there was a bunch of hippie protesters protesting stuff like animal rights and big business. I talked to the big business hater. He didn’t seem to realize that the same big businesses he hated, LiveNation, Ticketmaster, etc, were responsible for putting on the tour, and that the other company responsible for the tour, Van’s, is owned by a billion-dollar company that also owns Wrangler, Lee, Nautica, and North Face, among other companies. Instead, he was trying to get me to buy some overpriced books ($20 for a home-made book) that talked about how corporations always rip people off.
