Baseball Caps Are Causing Problems For The Cavs
LeBron Wear’s Yankees Hat; Local Media Goes Ballistic
Just last night, guard Shannon Brown was assaulted by a club bouncer for wearing a hat to a club. In an unrelated story, LeBron James has been criticized his entire career for wearing Yankees hats. The criticism was ratcheted up recently because LeBron said in an interview that he wanted the Yankees to win the world series. Conventional wisdom (irrational Clevelander fears) say that means he wants to play for the New York Knicks. What the hell, people? I know LeBron is a god here, and the Yankees are dirt, but shouldn’t his god status give him leeway, not take it away?
Cleveland’s #1 talk show host Mike Trivisonno jumped on LeBron, saying, “I don’t care about him,” before proceeding to talk about him for an entire week. It got most intense when an intelluctually-challenged young man called in and said, “Come on, he’s the KING!”
It’s been well established in Cleveland that Mike Trivisonno is a fool, but most of his station’s callers, on his and other shows, agreed with him. I myself am kind of jaded when it comes to supporting my teams. When your football team is the Browns and you watched the Cavs play basketball pre-LeBron, you learn to be apathetic. After all, sports is about being entertained with good games more than watching your home team win. So this may sound like a stupid question to one of those wackos who paints their face at games, but, if you are such a hardcore Indians fan, why do you care what LeBron says?
If you are looking at who your hometowm athletes support, why not jump on Donyell Marshall for supporting the Steelers? Answer: Because you didn’t know that he supported the Steelers, and you don’t care anyway, because he is a backup.
People are criticizing LeBron more simply because he is a star. Funny how that works. I thought that leading the Cavs to the NBA Finals would give him some leeway.
Seriously, LeBron is a Cleveland Caviliers basketball player, basketball being the key word. If he wore a Pistons cap, take him down. That shows disloyalty. But, just because you live somewhere you aren’t automatically a fan of their teams and obligated to wear their hat. LeBron grew up in Akron and still lives there, so he isn’t even really a Clevelander. He has supported the Yankees his entire life, so now that he is a Cleveland Cavilier, he has to switch his favorite team?
Tell you what, why don’t you go complain about Hillary Clinton for a change. That might do the country good.
By the way, here’s the link to the article about Shannon Brown getting his behind beaten.
