I’m Rooting for… Hawaii?

Georgia Coach Has Lost All My Respect…

Okay, so I never really had any respect for Georgia Football Coach (what’s his name?), but he just lost all the respect that I had for the fact that he was playing Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. See, I hate Hawaii because they went undefeated against an easy schedule and set a ton of passing records (again) by throwing too many times in a system that makes passing easy. Whenever some analyst mentions how they are undefeated or advocates for them I get annoyed.

But, not nearly as annoyed as I get when Georgia Coach says that his team got cheated out of a national title chance and deserves to be there ahead of LSU.

So Georgia Coach was being interviewed on the BCS selection show and he said something along the lines of, “I know they want to have a conference champ play in the BCS championship, but I still feel that we were not given consideration. I just think you should look at how we played over the season, but it seems like we were writen off from the start because we didn’t win the SEC.”

LSU, of course, won the SEC over Tennessee. Well, Georgia Coach, you could have had that same chance if you played well enough to make the championship, if you beat Tennessee, instead of losing by 21.

Even so, Georgia did play a pretty good season, losing to only Tennesse and South Carolina. (Two losses disqualifies a team most years, so be happy you even have any grounds to complain.) But, LSU also played a good season, losing to Kentucky and Alabama, probably worse teams, but both their losses were in triple overtime or later.

When you’ve got one team that won the SEC and only lost twice in overtime and the other that also had two losses, both in regulation, and didn’t even make the SEC champsionship, it’s pretty easy to decide who goes to the championship.

  2. For one thing georgia had a better record than tennessee , georgia beat kentucky , kentucky beat lsu. And georgia was right behind ohio state , they should have moved right behind them to the # 2 spot , i dont give a crap about the sec championship. ohio state was #3 and we were #4 , they moved to #1 , we should have moved to # 2, because the # 1 and 2 teams lost . So if they moved past #1 and #2 who lost , we should have too. That how it needs to be . Ive made my point.
