Sunday Afternoon Thoughts

The NFL conference championships are upon us. Nothing to say that hasn’t already been said. But, I have to say something, so I’m writing a post with thoughts on a lot of things that have happened in the past few weeks.

LeBron James Caught Speeding 100 MPH
Alright, so it’s pretty stupid to drive at 100 MPH. However it was blown a little out of proportion in Cleveland. It’s just a speeding ticket, not an arrest.

Safety experts were warning about how dangerous it is to drive that fast. If a car changes lanes way in front of you, you don’t have enough time to slow down. Maybe so, but LeBRON WAS DRIVING AT 2 AM! How many cars are going to change lanes in front of him when there’s no one on the road?

Golfweek Fires Editor After Publishing Noose on The Cover
The noose was in reference to a Kelly Tilghman’s comments that the only way to beat Tiger would be to lynch him. Tilghman appologized and Tiger wasn’t offended. She was the suspended for some time. No big deal, right? Just a stupid joke not meant to offend anyone.

However Golfweek pulls that stunt, putting a noose on the cover, as if Tilghman was a member of the KKK. It’s seen as racist by most, but I think it’s just as bad to associate Tilghman with the image of a noose. The comment was not an issue when the magazine was published then Golfweek made it an issue by sensationalizing it.

Green Bay TV Station Pulling Seinfeld Today

Eli Manning likes Seinfeld, so Green Bay thinks that by not airing Seinfeld today, he won’t be able to relax before the game. Well, I’d be annoyed if I lived in Green Bay.

First of all, Eli Manning is an NFL quarterback. What the heck is not watching Seinfeld (or even worse, having to watch it on a DVD) going to do to him?

Then again, remember how much of a baby he was at the NFL Draft?

Green Bay is going to win because they are so much better than the Giants, not because a TV station decided not to show Seinfeld.

Get Ready for Super Bowl Media Week
Today is the last day before the week before the Super Bowl. Enjoy it. That week is always the most annoying week of the year with all the media asking about how many years someone has had a certain color of skin and played a certain position or (this one’s an actual question from Steeler-Seahawks week) why the Steelers only have a logo on one side of their helmet. With the Patriots, it will be even worse.

Nevada Primary: Clinton Wins Popular Vote, Obama Wins Electorial College
Sidetracking from sports, the Clinton-Obama rivalry is really heating up. Last night was the Nevada primary, and Clinton won by 6%, but Obama took more districts, so he got more delegates, 13-12. Go cry about it, Hillary.
