Yesterday I wrote about the tragic appearance of Coppin State in March Madness with a 16-20 record (Post here.) Today, we have Coppin State to bemoan no more. They lost their play-in game 69-60 to Mount St. Mary’s last night.

It was a heartwrenching loss, as Coppin State went into the half with a 34-33 lead. They outshot Mt. St. My.’s 44% to 34%. They came up with 6 blocked shots.

But, they couldn’t shoot the free throws (6-of-13). The Mary’s made 26-of-32. The Mary’s also dominated in bench scoring, 25-3. Coppin State had been criticized all season for not having enough depth, and it showed.
