Melo: No I In Team When It Comes to Quiting
Carmello says the Nuggets as a team quit. George Karl responds that Melo might have, but, oh, I never could have quit.

Ever since Carmello Anthony made it to the NBA, he has been… well, sort of disappointing. On the court, anyway. He’s got the tallent, but it doesn’t look like he’s always playing hard enough. Now we have confirmation. Carmello admitted that not only he quit, but the entire team quit in the second half of their game three loss to the Lakers.
Coach Karl and some of the other players were mad about the remarks. They know Carmello likes to quit, but they don’t want him to drag them under the bus as well. Here’s what he said: “I’m saying ‘we,’ because I’m part of this, too. I’m saying I quit. We all just gave up.”
Karl promptly responded with, “He quit. I’m saying ‘he’ because he’s the only part of this.”
Seriously, though. Karl’s real response was “Well, I don’t think I quit … In the fourth quarter, I tried to find some answers. … I don’t think that’s a fair.”
It’s not like Karl took any of the players off the hook, though.
Linas Kleiza took that role, saying “I don’t think the team quit. I know you guys want to get guys when they’re frustrated and say things they don’t want to say. Nobody quit. We’re all together.”
He’s a real team player. Not only did he say the team didn’t quit, but he even included the fact that Carmello didn’t quit, and that it was just the media’s fault he quit.
Carmello went even further to say, “I didn’t play worth a [expletive] tonight, and I can accept that.”
Let’s get real though. Enver didn’t lose because they quit. Not because Carmello played like expletive. And not because Karl sucks at finding answers. (He’s sitting on your bench, for God’s sakes.)
The reason Enver continues to lose to the Lakers is that they’ve got no D. And they wouldn’t have any regardless of how tough they play. The media hasn’t helped. They gave Kobe a prominent mention heading to the break of SportsCenter, just for scoring 22 points. Kind of like giving him MVP just for scoring 29 points.
