Money Sports Blogging: Get Paid For Talking Sports!
Weekly column about promoting and monetizing your blog.
MITCHELL BLATT
A great source of blog promotion and monetization ideas is on webmaster forums where webmasters discuss their own opinions on these topics. Everyone has their own expertise about certain subjects, so there is a great exchange of ideas. Up until now, there hasn’t been a place for sports bloggers to discuss these topics, though. Sports blogs are much different than other types of websites or even just other types of blogs.
That is why I created the Sports Blogger Forums. Now, along with discussing blogging, you can also get paid! I am paying users 100% of the advertising revenue that their posts generate. Let me tell you how it works.
I am running a Yardbarker ad at the bottom of the page. Each time someone posts, I make money from that ad. Since the users themselves are creating the content, I feel they should get paid for the posts they make. I have a script up that tracks posts per week of registered members. Each week, I get an email telling how many posts everyone made. Then I will pay over Pay Pal.
You can sign up for Pay Pal here. Pay Pal makes it easy to transfer money over the internet, then you can transfer it from your Pay Pal account, either directly into your bank account or have a check sent.
The revenue won’t be huge, 4 cents per 10 posts, because of the amount of ads running. But the small amount of money will accumulate with posts, and, more importantly, you can discuss blogging and learn valuable insights.

so does this apply to me as well?
Yeah, it applies to anyone who signs up for it.
Awesome idea
not really understanding how we sign up then. my Paypal account email is different than this one.
I like the idea… but then yardbarker is cpm ad and you won’t really make much from it.. But as ive said great idea..
There is some question as to how to sign up for the paid program if you are already a member of the forums. Go to profile then “forum profile information,” and you can enter your Pay Pal account at the bottom of the page.
This is kind of like an added incentive, like making a little bit of money for doing nothing. Right now I only have two ads running, so it’s going to pay 4 cents for every 10 posts, but if I add another ad to the sidebar, I can raise it a little. I think the sidebar is a little too obtrusive, but please give me your input.
There a lot of get paid to sites out there, but not many that actually pay. I don’t personally mess much with get paid to sites having been in the industry for a while and being more advance, however if you are a newbie to making money online these are great sites to join.
