Michael Phelps vs. Another NFL Player
MITCH BLATTĀ
Braylon Edwards isn’t Chad Johnson, but he has a challenge of his own vs. Michael Phelps.
Johnson, you may remember, said he could beat Michael Phelps at swimming.
Edwards’ challenge is a little bit easier. Before the Olympics, he bet Phelps that he could double his golds in touchdowns.
I don’t think he was banking on Phelps to win 8 golds…
That said, 16 touchdowns is a definite possibility for Edwards. He scored 16 touchdowns last year. His rookie season, he scored 6.
It’s going to be close, but I give the edge to Phelps. Edwards has been nursing a cut foot all pre-season, and the effects of his missing three pre-season games were evident during his game against Dallas where he ended up with 14 yards on 2 catches and quite a few drops.
Along with any remaining effects of his injury, he also has to face a much tougher schedule than he did last year, with the Browns taking on nine winning teams from last year.
