Norman, Oklahoma? Best place for College Basketball AND College Football? Really now?
KEEVEN KUATE (DJ KEY)
A night after Blake Griffin comes down with 21 rebounds against Davidson, to go along with his 25 points, I’d be pretty scared to play Oklahoma down the road. I wish all the Big 12 team good luck, and I mean that. It’s, however, not the only program at OU that has been great this year. Their football team led by Heisman-hopeful Sam Bradford, has also a marquee game on Saturday against undefeated Texas Tech and a victory there could speak volumes and give us another messed up BCS. I always root for the underdogs right now in college football (unless Florida plays, they are just unstoppable, and rooting for their opponents is completely useless), as I want to see who the BCS picks when they have all the BCS conference top teams with 1 or 2 losses, and have the Utahes and the Boise and Ball States undefeated. Great system there…
Anyways, If you are an alum or student at OU, enjoy this time right now, as OU has a top 5 football program and a top 15 basketball program, the only university to claim such a thing this year. They would like to be the next “Florida” and win both the title games in both basketball and football, but OU has a long way to go as they would need to find a way to get in the BCS title game first, and you know how the BCS committee always messes that up, and they would need to find a way to beat UNC somehow, and I do not know if that is possible just yet.
So, I decided to Google “things to do in Norman, Oklahoma”, and I found this top 5 list.
5. The Norman Public Library (well… I guess there are many studious students at OU)
4. Firehouse Art Center and Gallery (Not my list, by the way, this is Yahoo’s list)
3. Liver River Zoo (Haven’t been to a zoo in a decade, maybe longer? Must be a sick ass zoo then)
2. Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History (Yeah…about that)
And the number 1 thing to do in Norman, Oklahoma is the Medieval Fair at OU.
Well, ladies and gentleman, I have not been to Norman, Oklahoma, so maybe I’m wrong and those things listed above are totally worth going to, but I’d rather go see basketball team and football team play, as they have quite a few special players and I’d take advantage of that now, because you can go to the Little River Zoo whenever you want. The talk of the town, I’m assuming, is probably how talented and how far their respective teams can go this year, and not how great that public library is. Too bad I cannot say this about my university that I’m attending, Arizona State… at least we were voted as the university with the most beautiful girls and we have James Harden. Beat that Norman!
