The End?

O.J. Simpson’s going to jail for a long time, maybe the rest of his life

SCOTT JACOBS

The man who once broke tackles, whizzed by defenders, and shattered record books en route to becoming one of the greatest football players in NFL history was finally taken down on Friday.

By a judge who emphasized strongly, that her sentencing of Simpson to a long time in prison, had nothing to do with whether or not he killed his wife.  Instead, she simply stressed that Simpson had screwed up beyond repair with this latest mess, and she wasn’t going to just let him free.

And with that, one of the most controversial figures in modern history goes down.  Without much of a fight.

Instead, the 61 year old man who many believe murdered his wife and Ron Goldman back in the 1990’s, watched his arms get shackled, his freedom taken away.  Around the world many sighs.  Across the dinner table much relief all around.  Did people want to get him?  Did America want to watch him fall? Probably.

There’s a lot of mixed feelings all around.

I have no interest in giving my opinion here.  I don’t know enough about the case.

But I do want your opinion.

The he said/she said squabbles to come in the coming weeks are inevitable.  The video is there.  Just what happened in that hotel room will only be known by the few people who were there.  I wasn’t.  I don’t know.

But O.J.’s going to jail.  And there’s no debate about that.
