BetUs and JSB agree to season long deal

JSB WIRE REPORTS

Today JSB and BetUs reached a deal to bring you– the sports fan– exciting video content for the 2009 NFL season.

Starting week one of the NFL season, Juiced Sports and BetUs will offer a weekly video segment hosted by NFL great Rod Woodson, who this past weekend was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame.  Woodson was a phenomenal and consistent force on the football field as a cornerback, and his talents and instincts were rewarded with a plaque in Canton.

Woodson, the six foot, 200 lb corner, was a great do it all player at Purdue. When the Boilermakers wanted him on offense he played running back and wide receiver.  On defense he played cornerback and safety.  For good measure, he even returned punts and kicks.  It was clear that after a brilliant college career, Woodson would be a force to be reckoned with, and the team that would be lucky enough to draft him was due to land themselves a special player.

The Steelers drafted him in the first round of the 1987 draft, and from there Woodson shined.  Making his name as a cornerback, Woodson also began his career as a punt and kick returner, before Pittsburgh decided that they didn’t want to wear him too thin.

Woodson played the majority of his 17 year NFL career in the Steel City, starring in Black and Gold for nine seasons, but he also made stops in San Francisco, Baltimore, and Oakland before wrapping up a terrific NFL career.

Woodson, who was a member of the 1990’s All Decade Team (no small feat in itself) amassed some brilliant numbers.

He snagged 71 balls from the opposing quarterback, compiled a mind blowing 1,483 return yards off those picks, had 2,362 yards off of punt returns, and took the ball to the house 17 times.  His most impressive feat though has to be his NFL record 12 interception returns for six.  Just think about that for a minute.  On interceptions alone, Woodson accounted for 72 points.

Somehow his 71 picks rank him only third all-time, but nevertheless, it’s still impressive.

His induction amongst the NFL greats was a given.

Woodson was a rare talent with a diverse skill set. It makes us wonder, “can he be a video star too?”

I guess come September we will will have our answer.
