MITCH BLATT Boise State Coach Chris Petersen is having some trouble expressing the right cliche sound bytes during the ESPN promo for the Boise State-Virginia Tech game. He says that after watching his own team play, he doesn’t expect them to win. Here is what Petersen said during the ESPN promo for the game: “We might be the favorite in somebody else’s opinion, but I think when our players and our coaches put on the tape, I don’t see us as favorites. I see us as the underdogs.” So Petersen thinks that if you actually watch his team play, based on his team’s ability on tape, you shouldn’t expect Boise State to win. I captured it on video, just to get the quote right and to cite it, and you can watch here. The video is sideways, though, because I filmed it with an iPhone, and I guess you’re supposed to hold them in standard video camera proportions when you film. Nonetheless, the video isn’t important; I just filmed it to get the quote right. I had already seen that promo earlier today, but I didn’t have a pen and paper out, so I didn’t remember Petersen’s word-for-word response.
