Prepare to be offended!…

Prepare to be offended!…

Tim Tebow’s mother expressing her love for her child is “offensive.”

MITCH BLATT

The Conservative Christian organization Focus on the Family bought some spots to run abortion-related ads during the Super Bowl, eliciting outrage from liberal groups including National Organization for Women and Planned Parenthood.

Ty Duffy at The Big Lead said CBS shouldn’t air them then got into an argument with me in the comments section of my post about the ads. Gloria Allred threatened to sue CBS.

Well, now the first of the FoF ads has been shown during the pregame show.

Tell me how offended you are after watching this:

And here’s the one that ran during the Super Bowl game:

So offensive!

Meanwhile, this is GoDaddy’s ad.

Which is not offensive at all to feminists:

  1. Yeah, much adu about nothing. But I think what was interesting was the way that the commercial was marketed to us all week: pro-life campaign, anti-abortion. Really all it did was say, I didn’t know if my baby would make it into this world, but look at how he turned out, and I’m so glad I never gave up on him. It was tender, loving, completely un-offensive and nothing like anyone expected. In actuality I actually finished that commercial liking Tim Tebow a whole heck of a lot more than I did before, because the story was honest, genuine and real. The Go-Daddy commercials are ridiculous and they get their fair share of disdain from feminist groups and the like, but the reason they get away with it is because they’re not focusing on any on issue. The day they put in abortion into their ads is the day you’ll hear an uproar. Plus, Tim Tebow was really the reason this ad was as controversial as it was. Players just don’t do commercials that may be against others’ values anymore, but Tim is different. He has said he will stay true to his beliefs no matter what anyone/any team says. I think we can all respect that, whether you agree with his beliefs or not.
