Big 10 conference expansion could destroy Big 12, Big East
Sports Illustrated has an interesting article in their latest issue about three possible scenarios for Big 10 expansion, some of which could lead to the collapse of the Big 12.
Here it is: The Colossal Conference Grind-up
Basically, the Big 10 is expanding, and they could add more than one team. They need more teams to get the Big 10 Network into more houses, and the teams they are looking at are Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Pitt and Syracuse. The Pac-10 is also looking to expand and take some Big 12 teams (maybe Colorado). If the Big 10 takes too many Big 12 or Big East teams, other teams in those conferences will want to bolt to a better conference, like the Pac-10, SEC, or ACC.
The Big 12 has been pretty successful in football lately, but apparently some of the teams there have problems with how revenue and bowl appearances are distributed.
It would be great to see Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State go to the SEC, as in one scenario. If these scenarios play out, the NCAA/BCS system will be in jeopardy, with 4 major conferences… but in that case, they could basically just give make the SEC Championship be the national championship, if it isn’t already.

I think the addition of Notre Dame and Nebraska would be huge for both the Big Ten and for those two schools. It is time for a change and these are the right schools to work with, big money with all the fans at Notre Dame.
I’ve said that least 1922995 times. The problem this like that is they are just too compilcated for the average bird, if you know what I mean
