Michael Jordan is cover athlete of NBA 2K11 after not appearing in video games during his career

Michael Jordan is coming out of retirement again. He’s the cover star of NBA 2K11, released yesterday October 5. He hasn’t played video game basketball since NBA Street Vol. 2. in 2003. During his career, he kept himself out of most of the video games that were made so that the Bulls usually had to use PG #23 for point guard.

Well, here’s the cover:

As the 2K Sports’ VP of marketing, Jason Argent said:

“We know we have the best NBA video game ever made here.”

Juiced Sports Blog comments that whatever video game is the newest ought to be the best.

Here’s the two-minute long trailer and some other videos and commercials, obviously all featuring Jordan:

This commercial features Rondo, Rose, Iguodala, Westbrook and Josh Smith pontificating about Jordan’s greatest games:

Kobe Bryant was also featured in a commercial I saw on TV tonight talking about Jordan, but I haven’t found it online yet. LeBron James missing out? How’s moving to Miami in a nationally televised Decision working out for you, James?
