Last Week: 7-6-1 Best Bets: 2-1 Monday Night: 1-0
Overall: 40-46-4 Best Bets: 9-9-1 Monday Night: 5-2
Pittsburgh –3 @ Miami
Miami hasn’t had much luck at home and Pittsburgh is probably the best team in the league right now. Three points is small potatoes for this type of mismatch.
Cincinnati @ Atlanta –3.5
Back in the dome the Falcons should take care of business against the Cowboys of the AFC. Bengals just aren’t getting it done this year.
Jacksonville @ Kansas City –9
Jags coming off a short week after getting trounced on Monday night. The Chiefs are a similar team to the Titans, the ones that did the thrashing, except with a better QB and receivers. Doesn’t matter if Garrad starts or not. KC is on fire this year and this won’t be pretty.
Philadelphia +3 @ Tennessee
The Eagles might be the class of the NFC and will ride Kolb’s hot streak to another win against a Titans team that doesn’t like to trade punch for punch. Tennessee is a front runner and will be behind early in this one.
Washington @ Chicago –3
The Redskins are due to blow a cover sooner or later. They came close last week against Indy, but hung in there to push. McNabb might not be intimidated going into Soldier Field, but the other skill players on offense might be. A couple pops from Peppers should make Torrain and the receivers hesitant for most of the game. The Bears are allowing their quarterback to get hammered consistently, but they still find ways to make the big plays when they need to.
Cleveland +13 @ New Orleans
The Saints had their blowout last week. That’s the only one they’ve had. And they’ve played some pretty bad teams. Peyton Hillis keeps the chains moving for the Browns and Colt McCoy didn’t look awful against Pittsburgh. And the Saints defense is not Pittsburgh’s.
Buffalo @ Baltimore –13
There are reasons. If you follow football at all you know you don’t need me to list them. Rout City.
San Francisco –3 @ Carolina
Matt Moore returns to continue his crappy play. San Fran finally got a win and needs to win this game against an NFC doormat to get back into the race.
St. Louis @ Tampa Bay –3
Just a week ago a good percentage of experts picked the Bucs to beat the Saints. They didn’t. They got smoked. But they’re still a solid team and they get the overachieving Rams at home. Sam Bradford is not Johnny Unitas. And if another St. Louis receiver gets injured they’ll have to sign Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt.
Arizona @ Seattle –5.5
The Seahawks got a rare road win last week and now get back their huge home field advantage against mighty Max Hall and his Cardinals. Max Hall.
New England +2.5 @ San Diego
Know this. I haven’t picked a Patriots game right yet. But also know this. The Chargers just lost to the f’ing Raiders and Rams and have lost their two best receivers AND Antonio Gates.
Oakland +8.5 @ Denver
The Raiders are bad, but this is too many points for a divisional game.
Minnesota +3 @ Green Bay
Packers are a disaster right now. Vikings look to be turning things around and will kill themselves trying to get to Aaron Rodgers.
New York Giants @ Dallas –3
Now or never for the Cowboys. They have all the tools. Let’s see if they can use them.
Best Bets: Baltimore, San Francisco, Minnesota
Side note: Gonna be a lot of unnecessary roughness flags this weekend. Take a close look at the overs for games that feature teams that like to throw a lot.
