Double Coverage: Week 11, the picks

Double Coverage: Week 11, the picks

Just in time for Thursday night’s Thigpen versus the Bears prime-time clash, it’s our pickatologist’s week 11 picks

MIKE KAYE

Last Week: 7-6 / Season: 66-56 / Guest: 5-4 (1-0 last week)

Bears @ Dolphins
- The Pick: Dolphins. The Bears are okay but they never seem to win games convincingly. I just think that will eventually bit them in the cheeks. Well Tyler Thigpen (who I am a huge fan of since that KC season a few years ago) is going to surprise a lot of people and the Bears may be the first victim.

Ravens @ Panthers- The Pick: Ravens. The Ravens are coming off what some would consider a big loss and I think the pathetic Panthers are going to get trounced. The Tony Pike Era will go off with a bang, just not the type of bang he wanted.

Bills @ Bengals-The Pick: Bengals. Nice work Bills. Not again, not again. Anyway the Bengals need a win and this will be the one. This is also the game Ochocinco goes off.

Lions @ Cowboys-The Pick: Lions. I know after last week this will be considered an upset but these teams have the same record and probably the same amount of talent. The Lions are ready to break out and I think this may be the road game for them.

Browns @ Jaguars-The Pick: Browns. Cleveland looks good and any sane Jaguars fan will tell you they got lucky last week. I think Peyton Hillis is going to run all over a bunch of weak safeties and Colt McCoy will pick on them.

Cardinals @ Chiefs-The Pick: Chiefs. The Chiefs are better but doesn’t mean this is a lock as Todd Haley’s former team comes to town. If the Chiefs lose this one, Todd Haley may not be the only one pointing fingers because this is extremely winnable.

Packers @ Vikings-The Pick: Packers. The game that finally gets Leslie Frazier the coaching position everyone thinks he deserves. It is hard to beat a team off the bye week (unless they are the Redskins) so the Packers are going to add to their already awesome abilities. This game could get ugly early.

Texans @ Jets- The Pick: Jets. This game will be pretty evenly contested even though both teams seem to be headed in different directions. I think the Texans will play the NYJ tough but inevitably have similar results to their last few games.

Raiders @ Steelers
-The Pick: Raiders. This will be considered an upset but after an emotional loss takes it’s toll on the towel twirlers they will come off flat. I wonder how it feels to have the biggest fake tough guy in the world being the victim of his own unnecessarily foul play. Yes Hines Ward, I am talking to you.

Redskins @ Titans-The Pick: Titans. It’s hard to see the Titans losing three games in a row especially against the Redskins. I don’t want to tell you how I feel about the Skins because my opinion is not for faint at heart or the internet for that matter.

Seahawks @ Saints-The Pick: Saints. Has there been a more unassuming set of defending Superbowl Champions? Either way they tame crazy Pete Carroll and his minions.

Buccaneers @ 49ers-Pick: 49ers. The Niners seem to be on a role and I like what I see with Troy Smith. The Bucs are the most underwhelming 6-3 team ever and I think the trip out west will not do them wonders.

Falcons @ Rams-The Pick: Falcons. The Rams are good just not good enough to beat the Falcons who have quietly become the best team in the NFC. The smart and great Matt Ryan should be able to pick on a weak secondary and I think John Abraham has resurgence against a terrible O-line.

Colts @ Patriots-The Pick: Patriots. I think this game gets less interesting every year. We get it already, they are the two best QBs of the last decade and they draw big crowds but does this game ever fulfill the hype? Sure it is a great game but I think injuries normally play a factor, so I’ll go with the NE Bradys.

NY Giants @ Eagles: Guest Pick: Scott will be making the pick this week. Pick: Eagles. Vick showed he can own the moment on national TV on a bigtime stage.  While I don’t expect the Hall of Fame to be asking for his jersey for a second week in a row, I do expect another big game, this one against the hated Giants. It’s impossible to bet against Vick right now until he flops, which has yet to happen this season.

Broncos @ Chargers-The Pick: Chargers. That blowout the Broncos gave the Chiefs was a good hiccup but the Chargers are getting their usual late season groove back so I think this is an inevitable loss for a poorly coached and put together Denver team.
