MIKE KAYE
Last Week: 10-4 / Season: 96-70 / Guest: (1-0 Last Week) 7-5
Two weeks in a row and I’m smoking. I can’t wait to make it a three-peat of awesome weeks. I have a weird feeling about this week with a lot of obscure games happening on Sunday but hopefully I will come out pretty clean.
Colts @ Titans-The Pick: Colts. These two teams are headed in the wrong direction, much like the rest of their AFC South Division. I have a hard time believing that Peyton can look awful three games in a row at this point in his career. I think this game with come down to the 4th quarter but in the end the Indy pulls it out.
Browns @ Bills-The Pick: Browns. The Browns have become the trendy pick this season, especially after a hard fought win against the Fins this past week. I think that Eric Mangini has definitely saved his job as Mike Holmgren has done a pretty good Bill Parcells impression with his management skills. The Peyton Hillis experience will look to make a permanent mark in Western New York, and will easily succeed.
Falcons @ Panthers-The Pick: Falcons. Last week, the Panthers looked good…till someone told the Seahawks that they were playing them and the Seattle crazies took over. This time around, Carolina won’t have a chance. Falcons will win this one big (think NYG vs. Skins from last week).
Packers @ Lions- The Pick: Packers. It seems not matter what they do, the Lions seem to be out of luck. They are competitive and work hard but the truth is, is that they are in a reasonably tough conference and they just aren’t good enough to win. While I see a big game for Suh in this one, I think the Packers will be able to take the win against the Detroit Secondary.
Raiders @ Jaguars-The Pick: Raiders. I am going to this game and while I would love my last Jaguars game of college life to end with a home town victory, I just don’t see it happening. I think both teams are on the up but I just think the Raiders are the better team and guys like Mike Thomas are going to have problems against a good secondary.
NY Giants @ Vikings-The Pick: NYG. The Giants will look to keep pace against the Eagles and have a great shot in this one. While the NYG has a problem with receivers, the Vikings seem to be wary almost all aspects of their team. I think if Brett Farve starts then Minnesota has not shot against that pass rush.
Bengals @ Steelers-The Pick: Bengals. While the Steelers just won their biggest game of the season, I feel they are due a letdown game. The Bengals are the Lions of the AFC as they work their butts off but just can’t pull of wins. After finishing so close the last few weeks, the Cincy squad steals won in a low scoring affair.
Buccaneers @ Redskins-The Pick: Buccaneers. If the Bucs lose this game, they can kiss the playoffs goodbye and if the Skins lose, its no biggy for them but helps out their rivals, the Giants and Eagles as it makes them almost guaranteed a spot for both. The Bucs have a must win against a team that seems to have given up. The Redskins are actually kind of embarrassing to watch…and by that I feel embarrassed that I waste my time watching them. I feel for you Skins fans, I mean that sincerely.
Rams @ Saints-The Pick: Rams. I just think the Saints are not that good. Yes, they win games but they don’t do it convincingly. If there was a team and a time for steal-win against the defending champs, then the Rams and this week would be it. Sam Bradford could have an early defining moment in this one. This will be a medium scoring game so look for a score of 21-16 or something similar.
Seahawks @ 49ers-The Pick: Seahawks. I would have taken the Niners had they not decided to start Alex Smith but they did. I think the Seahawks are doing a decent job of pulling out wins and while they only beat the Panthers last week, I think that come-from-behind win could boost this team on road to being the worst playoff team in history.
Broncos @ Cardinals-The Pick: Broncos. A game that proves once you go West, you will never be the best. The Cardinals lack identity in every aspect, and while Denver just fired their coach, they have significantly more talent. Josh McDaniels will prove to have been a deterrent and the Broncos will get a win but this could be their last of the season.
Patriots @ Bears-The Pick: Patriots. I think the field will play a huge factor in this game, which in turn will make the game close as the Pats are flat out the best team in the league right now. Jay Cutler may have a problem against the New England defense that destroyed the overrate Jets on Monday. I look for Brandon Tate and Deion Branch to dominate the Bears.
Dolphins @ Jets-The Pick: Jets. If the Jets don’t make an example of the Dolphins, then they honestly don’t deserve to be called a Superbowl Contender. This Jets team was owned by the Pats and it just seems like Jets fans, players and Rex Ryan just don’t understand why they were beat. This team has a ton of weaknesses, most apparent being Mark Sanchez. The Fins have a shot in this one but they could also be made to look like clowns by a vengeful Jet defense.
Chiefs @ Chargers-The Pick: Chargers. This is the worst time for an appendectomy in the history of sports. Matt Cassel had to have emergency surgery during the most impressive stretch of any young quarterback that is not named Matt Ryan has had in a while. This game will come down to whether Cassel plays or not but if he doesn’t it could spell bad news for the KC playoff picture. If the KC QB plays then KC wins in a close one with Dwayne Bowe adding 2 more TDs to his collection.
Eagles @ Cowboys-Guest Pick: Scott. The Pick: Cowboys. Call this a hunch, but I think Dallas is a totally different team right now, then the over-hyped mess that we saw earlier in the season. They won’t get to the playoffs, or close to the Super Bowl that they’ll be hosting, but I think they’ll be one of those teams that can cause havoc down the stretch. Consider this week a wakeup call to teams that play America’s “revived” Team the rest of 2010.
Ravens @ Texans-The Pick: Ravens. Similar to the Jets, the Ravens are angry about last week’s night game. The only difference is that they can embarrass a team in front of millions of people on MNF. I believe this one will be bloody. Ravens by a mile, you can chalk that down.
