Juiced Sports Presents: V4, Our 2011 Mock NFL Draft, Round 2

Version 4, Round 2 of our Mock Draft

MIKE KAYE

Picks 1-16 / Picks 17-32 Round 2 / Round 3

33.  New England (^ CAR) / Rodney Hudson / OG / FSU
Hudson can take over for Logan Mankins if the team decides they have really had enough.

34.  Denver / Ryan Williams / HB / Virginia Tech
Williams is a fine complement to the oft-injured Knowshon Moreno. He could also compete for starting position in training camp.

35.  Buffalo / Ryan Mallet / QB / Arkansas
Mallet is possibly the most ready of the rookie QB’s as far playing but his past has put him down in the decision department. This gives the Bills a choice to develop Mallet with Ryan Fitzpatrick starting or have a rookie start from Day One.

36.  Cincinnati Demarco Murray / HB / Oklahoma
Demarco Murray had a brilliant combine and that makes him worth this pick. Bernard Scott is nice but Cedric Benson could on his way out. This offense needs a ton of help.

37.  ArizonaChristian Ponder / QB / FSU
Ponder is my favorite QB in this draft but I am aware of his injury short-comings. If the Cards don’t trade for Kolb or Carson Palmer, this could be a great move.

38.  Cleveland / Kyle Rudolph / TE /Notre Dame
The Browns need offensive weapons and Pat Shurmur will love this new safety blanket for his young QB.

39.  San Francisco /Jordan Todman / HB / UConn
Todman can fill the Brian Westbrook role as backup to Frank Gore and could possibly be Gore’s successor as he is more of a fit for the West Coast offense that Jim Harbaugh is installing.

40.  Tennessee / Davon House / CB / New Mexico State
House is a nickel corner for a new defensive coordinator who may find Christian Finnegan’s act getting old sooner rather than later.

41.  DallasJason Pinkston / OT / Pittsburgh
Doug Free is serviceable but he is not on the level of Pinkston who I believe is worthy of a first round pick.

42.  Washington / Daniel Thomas/ HB / Kansas State
Thomas is a suitable replacement for Clinton Portis and would make a great 1-2 punch with Ryan Torain.

43.  Houston / Johnny Patrick / CB / Louisville
Houston had a historically bad secondary last season, Patrick would be a welcomed addition.

44.  Minnesota / Bruce Carter / OLB / UNC
Carter is coming off an injury but if healthy can provide great depth at a position Minnesota needs with less-than stellar Ben Leber starting.

45.  Detroit / Curtis Brown / CB / Texas
The second round corners don’t have much separation, the reason for Brown here is that he is a physical corner for a physical, defensive-minded head coach.

46.  St. Louis / Leonard Hankerson / WR / Miami
Hankerson is a possible 1st round talent and will fill a much needed hole for the stand-outless Rams.

47.  Denver (^MIA) / Quinton Carter / FS / Oklahoma
Carter is the replacement to Brian Dawkins as far free safety is concerned.

48.  Jacksonville / Richard Cobb / WR / Kentucky
Mike Sims-Walker has been sent packing and Cobb would be a replacement.

49.  Oakland / Demarcus Love / OT/OG / Arkansas
Love is the type of O-lineman that Al Davis likes, athletic and can play tons of different positions.

50.  San Diego / Greg Jones / LB  /  Michigan State
Jones is a superior inside linebacker who can take the place of Brandon Siler, who is a free agent.

51.  NY Giants / Orlando Franklin / OG / Miami
Franklin is a big guy and he can allow some running-lanes for the run-heavy NYG.

52.  Tampa Bay / Benjamin Ijalana / OG / Villanova
If Davin Joseph leaves, the Bucs will need a RG.

53.  Kansas CityStefenWisnewski / C/G / Penn. State
Wisnewski is a versatile lineman that can really replace any of the old dudes in the interior.

54.  Indianapolis / Joseph Barksdale / OT / LSU
Last year, they missed out on Rodger Scaffold and this year Barksdale will not get past them.

55.  Philadelphia / Colin Kaepernick / QB / Nevada
If Kolb is gone, the Eagles will need a back-up and starter in waiting and Kaepernick looked great in his offseason workouts.

56.  New Orleans /Martez Wilson /MLB / Illinois
Wilson
is scary fast and can provide awesome depth and competition for JohnathanVilma.

57.  Seattle / Aaron Williams / CB /Texas
Kelly Jennings has proven replaceable.

58.  Baltimore
/ Ras-I Dowling / CB / Virginia
Josh Wilson needs a lot of help.

59.  Atlanta / JabaalSheard / DE / Pittsburgh
Sheard is the eventual successor to the aging John Abraham.

60.  New England
/ Torrey Smith / WR / Maryland
Hopefully adding another threat to replace Randy Moss.

61.  Chicago / Quan Sturdivant / MLB / UNC
The more the linebacker U of the NFL can add, the better.

62.  San Diego (^ NYJ) / Titus Young / WR / Boise State
Young is a dynamic returner and special teamer which will help with a glaring statistical hole.

63.  Pittsburgh / Ahmad Black / SS / Florida.
Ryan Clark isn’t going to be around much longer so Black is a guy in waiting.

64.  Green Bay / DeAndre McDaniel / SS/FS / Clemson
McDaniel fills the spot of the departing Atari Bigby.
