Radio: Analyzing Ozzie Guillen to the Marlins, small market baseball, and who will win the wild card race tonight in both the AL and NL
SCOTT JACOBS
Today is the last day of the 2011 MLB regular season. We may have tiebreakers I don’t know, but leave it to the Marlins to look ahead to 2012, when so many teams still have their eyes on the trophy in 2011. Today, the Miami Marlins of Florida (just kidding, I think) announced that Ozzie Guillen has signed a contract to be their manager for the next 4 years for $4 million per. It’s a splashy hire, and one of the worst kept secrets in sports these past few months, but will it mean anything for the new era of Marlins baseball? I discuss that very topic. Also, can baseball work in Florida? And who will win the Wild Card races tonight? Hint, hint: I’m feeling upset tonight in Crabcake Nation!
