NFL WRAP UP
The Broncos were safetied on their first play against the Minnesota Vikings at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis, Minn., but that didn’t stop Tim Tebow and the gang from leading their typical comeback victory. This time, Tebow even put up respectable passing numbers: 10-of-15 for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns. He only ran the ball 4 times, gaining 13 yards. Willis McGahee put up 111 yards on 20 carries, after getting safetied on the Bronco’s first offensive play of the game.
The Broncos were trailing 15-7 at halftime and remained closely behind until the fourth quarter. They tied it 29-29 with 9:42 remaining when Tim Tebow threw an 88-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas, followed by a 24-yard Willis McGahee touchdown run and a two-point conversion–a 2-play 49-second drive.
Minnesota responded with a 13-play field goal drive. With 3:06 left, the Denver Broncos got the ball back and kicked a field goal to tie it with 1:33 left. Vikings QB Christian Ponder then threw an interception on the Vikings first play after the kickoff, and the Broncos took over the ball at the 15, running the clock down until Matt Prater kicked the game-winning field goal for the Broncos.
The win puts the Broncos tied for first place in the AFC West.
