Bellator 93 results recap for ‘Jansen vs Held’ last night (March 21) from Lewiston

Bellator Fighting Championships returned for round nine on Spike TV last night (March 21, 2013) with a the season seven lightweight finals in Lewiston, Maine.
We don't get to say this often in MMA, but it was a good night to be a judge.
That's because all but one fight was finished before ever needing to go to the scorecards. Hell, only two fights went past the third round.
Of course, the one fight where the judges were needed was the main event, a very entertaining battle between young prospect Marcin Held and hard-nosed veteran Dave Jansen.
Held surprised just about everyone by keeping the majority of the first round standing and not only going after Jansen with his striking, but actually outclassing the veteran on the feet with some solid hooks and accurate straight punches to counter Jansen's more wild looping attack.
In the second round, Held scored a quick takedown and it seemed he was about to have the fight in the bag but Jansen not only avoided getting submitted by the leglock specialist, but he started dropping some heavy ground and pound on the Polish prospect.
Every time Held attacked a leg, Jansen would twist free and begin pounding him with punches and hammer fists to the point where he'd either have to switch his attack or give up the hold.
By the third round, conditioning became a serious factor as Jansen began to light Held up on the feet and the 21-year old was basically a walking zombie. When the fight went to the ground again, Held at least had the grappling conditioning to attack a bit, but he still couldn't put Jansen in anything that legitimately threatened a finish and when it was all said and done, Jansen was awarded the winner on all three judges' scorecards, having won the final two rounds to take a well-deserved unanimous decision.
Next up for "The Fugitive" will be a lightweight title fight against Bellator champion Michael Chandler.
