<p><b>JSB WIRE REPORTS </b></p>
<p>Thanks Shaun King!</p>
<p>The former NFL quarterback, turned ESPN analyst told me this morning that Tulsa was a sure bet to beat Ball State, and he was so sure that I reversed my original selection of the Cardinals to the Golden Hurricane.&nbsp; And what a decision that was.&nbsp; Leading by just one game over all the sports bloggers that were eligible to win the $100 prize (Gunaxin participants were just playing for fun), JSB needed Tulsa to win to open up a two game lead on the eligible field with just one game to play to secure the title.&nbsp; And that&#8217;s exactly what happened.</p>
<p>Tulsa ran over one loss Ball State 45-13 on Tuesday night, keeping Nate Davis and Ball State&#8217;s potent offense in check, while steamrolling the Cardinals on the ground.&nbsp; And with it came the culmination of one crazy bowl tournament.&nbsp; Sure, <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/fedex-bcs-national-championship-florida-vs-oklahoma/8002" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/fedex-bcs-national-championship-florida-vs-oklahoma/8002">Florida plays Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game</a> Thursday, but this puppy is over.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s been a long strange trip. JSB started out just 4-4 and then caught fire nailing 11 picks in a row.&nbsp; We were in the top 200 of ESPN.com&#8217;s Bowl Pick &#8216;Em contest, before things starting crashing down to earth.&nbsp; With Vandy&#8217;s stunning win over BC in the <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/gaylord-hotels-music-city-bowl-boston-college-vs-vanderbilt/7470" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/gaylord-hotels-music-city-bowl-boston-college-vs-vanderbilt/7470">Music City Bowl</a> came the end of the streak and the start of a major swoon.&nbsp; First Georiga Tech was pummeled by LSU in the <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/chick-fil-a-bowl-lsu-vs-georgia-tech/7486" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/chick-fil-a-bowl-lsu-vs-georgia-tech/7486">Chick Fil A Bowl</a>.&nbsp; Then on New Year&#8217;s Day Nebraska came from behind to beat my pick, Clemson in the <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/konica-minolta-gator-bowl-clemson-vs-nebraska/7545" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/konica-minolta-gator-bowl-clemson-vs-nebraska/7545">Gator Bowl</a>.&nbsp; After USC pummeled their annual Big 10 appetizer in the <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/rose-bowl-penn-state-vs-usc/7549" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/rose-bowl-penn-state-vs-usc/7549">Rose Bowl</a>, we lost five in a row, including a stunning <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/att-cotton-bowl-mississippi-vs-texas-tech/7779" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/att-cotton-bowl-mississippi-vs-texas-tech/7779">Cotton Bowl </a>and <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/allstate-sugar-bowl-utah-vs-alabama/7794" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/allstate-sugar-bowl-utah-vs-alabama/7794">Sugar Bowl</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/group?groupID=18210#" target="_blank" mce_href="http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/group?groupID=18210#">But we hung in there, thought out our picks, and rebounded to win two in a row to finish the deal.</a></p>
<p>This was a lot of fun, and a great tournament.&nbsp; <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl">We&#8217;d like to thank all the participating blogs</a>, and especially all of our friends over at <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl" target="_blank" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl">Gunaxin</a> for setting up this great Blog Bowl in addition to the Pick &#8216;Em contest.</p>
<p>So that&#8217;s it.&nbsp; This tournament managed to turn the irrelevent bowls into the deciding bowls, making me more interested in the lesser bowls than ever before.&nbsp; So thanks Gunaxin.&nbsp; And be sure to check out of all their other bowl content and <a href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl-general-content/6410" mce_href="http://www.gunaxin.com/blog-bowl-general-content/6410">general college football content</a>.</p>
<p>Thanks everybody for a great bowl season, and we look forward to the BCS Championship game.</p>
<p>Regards,<br />
<b>Scott Jacobs</b><br />
