With Leather’s Watch This: Screw Your Pizza, A Man Must Watch His Playoff Hockey

The above image of a pizza order was posted to Reddit over the weekend, as a Vancouver Canucks fan ordered his tropical chicken pizza for pickup on Friday night, presumably at the start of the third period, when Vancouver was trailing the San Jose Sharks 1-0. But Ryan Kesler tied the game within the first minute of the period, and that customer’s order quickly changed to delivery. Seven minutes later, the pizza seemingly became a hockey celebration prize, as the Canucks went up 2-1. Then it became an overtime feast when the Sharks tied the game at 2 late in the third. Finally, it became a feast of depression, as the Canucks lost 3-2 in overtime. While I certainly feel for this fan… who eats chicken on a pizza? Gross, bros.NHL PlayoffsGame 3: Bruins at Leafs – 7 PM ET on NHL Network Game 3: Capitals at Rangers – 7:30 PM ET on NBC Sports Game 4: Ducks at Red Wings – 8 PM ET on CNBC Game 4: Blues at Kings – 10 PM ET on NBC SportsI love pizza as much as the next guy, but it’s not really a great sports game food. I’m a typical bro, so I’d definitely go with wings over a pie, but if pizza’s all there is, then I can live with it. Also, that game ended pretty late, so the Canucks fan really shouldn’t have been loading up on so many calories at that time of night. Trust me, I’m sort of fat and I regret so many late night meals. NBA PlayoffsGame 1: Bulls at Heat – 7 PM ET on TNT Game 1: Warriors at Spurs – 9:30 PM ET on TNTDo you think Dwight Howard feels like a moron for shutting down two attempts by the Warriors to trade for him last year? I don’t remember what the rumored offers were at the time, but I’m positive they involved David Lee, Ekpe Udoh and Monta Ellis (before the Milwaukee Bucks trade, obviously) for Howard and one of the Orlando Magic’s horrible contracts. Obviously, the Magic made out a lot better than anyone ever gave them credit for (despite, you know, that whole worst record in the NBA thing) but would that trade have been better for the Warriors than the deal that eventually got them Andrew Bogut? I love questions about hindsight that can’t ever be answered.MLB: Braves at Reds – 7 PM ET on ESPNBecause I’m a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, I’m often considered classier, more intelligent and girthier than other baseball fans, but I’ll admit that my favorite story of this season thus far is Evan Gattis. I really hope that when Brian McCann is ready to play that Gattis still gets a steady workload.I also wonder if the BARVES wouldn’t be better off trading McCann to an American League team so he can catch and DH and Atlanta can move forward with Gattis and Gerald Laird while shoring up other areas of depth concern. (Note: I have no idea what the Braves would need because that requires looking at stuff and thinking.)WWE Monday Night Raw – 8 PM ET on USAHere’s my story line for tonight’s RAW: Stacy Keibler returns and that’s it. She just hangs out and I get to watch her for three hours. The post With Leather’s Watch This: Screw Your Pizza, A Man Must Watch His Playoff Hockey appeared first on With Leather.
