SCOTT JACOBS
The Atlanta Hawks always find a way to end up with the short end of the stick.

Celtics make the best out of disappointingly long series with Hawks anniolating them in the winner take all game
SCOTT JACOBS
It was a fun ride, and an unexpected wrinkle to the 2008 NBA Playoffs. But the Boston Celtics had enough of Atlanta toying with history. They were tired of the growing number of skeptics who said […]

A Cubs-Rays Fall Classic? If the season ended today, and baseball used their old school format of handing each league’s best team the pennant, we’d have the Chicago Cubs and the Tampa Bay Rays. The Cubs who haven’t won a World Series in 99 years and counting, and the Rays who have shocked the baseball world with their incredible home success, scrappy hitting, good defense, and quality pitching. Fans however, separate the two. The Rays can’t draw any. The Cubs can’t stop em from coming in. It kinda makes you wonder if Wrigley was a 50,000 seat stadium if the Cubs would still sell out every game? The Loveable Losers aren’t taking anything for granted at their perch high above the top of the National League. They were the best team (or so it seemed in 2003) and that team called the Marlins came along and came back from a 3-1 NLCS deficit. But it’s quite a contrast. The Rays haven’t even been around 20 years, whereas the Cubs are on the verge of going a century without claiming a World Series title. So you know Cubs fans would be absolutely destroyed if they played the Rays in the World Series and lost. But every day it feels like this Rays team is growing, and that collapse that many expected has yet to come, and most likely won’t. Could the Rays keep Chicago’s misery going if the two played in the World Series? Hey, look at it this way: Florida teams have never lost a playoff series, and no Florida team has ever lost to the Cubs in the playoffs. And in a year as weird as this one, who’s to say the Rays can’t keep that good Florida karma going?
